These fit good. I am putting on a new water heater and re-using my original stainless steel door and the original clip screwed inside the door. The shank is shorter than the original, maybe because of the bend at the bottom. After mine was installed, I used needle nose pliers to flatten the curl on the back so the whole thing protruded about 1/32 of an inch further out, and it rotates better. Now its perfect, and very tightly fitting, on my 1976 Airstream. Happy Camping from Arcadia, FL. Thanks, Jack
